Statistics in Research Methods Essay Paper.
Descriptive statistics are used to describe a population using numerical characteristics such as percentages, rates and graphs. A descriptive research analysis was conducted by the ROC (Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium). The research network organized the research to identify Emergency Medical Systems used in ROC through a novel framework. Lack of precise definition of Emergency Medical Services characteristics has resulted to significant variability of emergency systems. Statistics in Research Methods Essay Paper.

The ROC investigators conducting the research used standardized surveys to collect data. Surveys were done across different emergency sites to enrich the research. Descriptive statistics was used to collate and analyze the results. 264 Emergency Medical Service Agencies, 154 dispatch centers and 287 hospitals were used to collect data for the study. The results of the study gave clear differences and similarities in the Emergency medical Services systems. The findings will be used as a template for further research on Emergency medical Services.
Inferential Statistics
Inferential statistics explain how different variables are related, and how changes in one variable impacts change in another variable. Using inferential statistics, predictions about a population can be made by analyzing data collected from a sample (Karimov, 2018). Inferential statistics were used in a study conducted by the National Research Council to investigate the relationship between prevalence of firearms and violent crime.
The study used results from previous research and literature published discussing the same. 25 studies that examined the correlation between availability of guns and crimes such as homicide, domestic crime and other types of violent crimes were analyzed. The research focused on US-based studies. Eventually, 11 studies met the required criteria. They either identified the impact of gun prevalence on violent crime rates over time or applied an instrumental variable approach to explain the relationship. Most of the studies confirmed the hypothesis that gun prevalence had caused an increase in violent crime. Statistics in Research Methods Essay Paper.
