1. Tell me about a time when you were leading a group, were assigned a goal, and did not
reach it
When I was given the task of improving the productivity of the company while
working as a backup NE region safety supervisor for 22 sites I reorganized the personnel, but
this did not auger well with some employees. The change of roles made it difficult for some
employees to cope in their new roles. In order to address this issue, I had to conduct the staff
on what is expected of them and brief them of their new roles. This induction turned out
successful and the general productivity of the company increased.
2. Tell me about a time when you had a group conflict and how did you overcome this
conflict?
When I was working on a production site, I had problems with the reward scheme.
The reward scheme that had been in place was uniform and some employees who felt that
achieved more had the view that the system did not favor them. In order to resolve this issue,
I introduced progressive reward scheme through which the performance of the employee
determined the reward system. This system introduced an element of fairness in the

Organizational productivity is the lifeline of the general survival of the organization.
I was able to increase productivity at NE by introducing an array of changes. First, I
introduced a clear reward system for performing employees. In addition, I introduced
promotion according to performance and this encouraged most of the employees to desire to
achieve more. Selection and training is another strategy that I employed in the organization in
order to increase productivity. Furthermore, I introduced job rotation and this was able to
break workplace monotony. Employees were able to handle new tasks and this enabled them

4. Tell me about a time when you dealt with an employee with poor performance
Poor performing employees’ may be a source of conflict between a supervisor and
employees. While leading 80 associates, some associates produced poor performance. I was
able to deal with this issue by introducing an array of measures. The first strategy was to

What kind of roles have you done that were leadership roles?
Leading a group is one of the most daunting tasks and achieving organizational goals
is even more challenging. While working as an operations supervisor I was leading 80
associates on a daily basis. The goal of this group was to achieve increased productivity in
the organization. However, this was not the case as some associates tended to push in the
opposite direction. This made it very complex to realize the goal in time, but with the right

Workplace discipline is one of the aspects that I strongly advocate for. Employees

shows up to work drunk, I will take it upon myself to find out what makes them drink. After

Working with a group can be a challenging role. When I was working at NE, I had to

accomplish this goal. Therefore, I decided to improve their terms of service by taking care of

Customer satisfaction is the hallmark of business operations. I directed that branding

The ethical conflict I had with my boss related to the fact that the manager wanted to

dialogue and the impasse was broken.

I deal with stress ensuring that I manage my time in a better way. In addition, I am
more assertive. I do not take a backseat when faced with challenging situations.
