I hold the profound belief that life is a web that is made up of networks of culture,
education, family background as well the immediate society. I am a person who traces their roots
to a society that firmly believes in religion. My parents have brought me up with the notion that
the belief in a supreme being is very important as it shapes the future and personality of a person.
In this regard, I am a pious person who has a firm belief in the Alight God. In addition, I am a
member of various religious groups in my campus and this helps me to grow my faith with each
passing day. At the same time, I belong to the generation that is surrounded by the pilferage in
society.
My family upbringing has taught me that understanding myself and having a high self
esteem is very important to my success in life. Hence, I always endeavor to treat people with a
lot of respect since this is how I have been brought up. The socio-economic class that I belong is
the upper middle class where I have been able to enjoy a moderate form of life. My parents have
always had a substantial amount of disposable income that has enabled them to afford most of the luxuries of life. The social class is a factor that is directly related to the kind of lifestyle that a
person enjoys within the immediate society (McNa, 171). In my case, I have been able to
experience that being of an upper middle class means that one can be able to enjoy an admirable
lifestyle as well as better standards of living. I have been able to secure a decent education, living
standard and even health care due to the social construct of class that I belong. What’s more, the
neighborhood that I have grown up in has been acquired through the combined efforts of my

The factors of nationality, language and citizenship directly affect the kind of
relationships that I have been able to form. I am a citizen of America where English is the
commonly used language in communication. Hence, the most close and firm friendships have
been formed with the people that share the same language of English and nationality of America
as myself. In fact, the long-term unions that I have formed friendships with also belong to the
same ethnic background like myself. However, this has not affected my ability to interact with
other people besides those of my community. I have been able to learn that the socialization and
interaction with people of diverse backgrounds is very essential when it comes to understanding
their ways of life, origin, historical roots as well as customs (McNa, 171).
In fact, the friends that belong to different countries have enabled me to understand
things that were previously alien to me. For instance, some of these friends have made me widen
my school of thought when it comes to issues pertaining to sexuality and gender. At the same
time, political governments and states of unrest have become an area of interest in my daily life.
I now understand that the current political situation in a country can affect daily activities of
learning, working, traveling or even doing business. Ultimately, growing up within my family setting and my diverse community has largely shaped my character and personality to a
